The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is powered by 2GHz octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. The phone has 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 256GB via a microSD card. For the cameras, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 packs a 12-megapixel (f/2.2, 1.25-micron) primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front camera.

Redmi Y2 is powered by a 3080mAh non removable battery. In terms of size, it measures 160.73 x 77.26 x 8.10 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 170.00 grams.

  1. Redmi Y2 Lagging or apps taking too much time to open
    1. Some apps with large graphics intensive games and apps such as Youtube can open slowly. That should be fine.
    2. If the problem is not resolved after rebooting, you have to perform a factory reset. In Settings, go to Setting > Backup & Reset > Factory Reset . Make sure to take necessary backup before factory reset as it will erase all data from your phone.

    1. First, go to the Redmi Y2's setting > apps, then click on the app which is crashing frequently and clear its data.
    2. Secondly, uninstall the app and install it again from the play store.

    1. Check if your phone is overheating. If that is the case, close the apps running in background.
    2. Make sure you are not sharing the screen with other devices.
    3. Check if the mobile touch is operating fine in the recovery mode.

  5. This might also be due to any issue of the internet connection you are using. Try the following steps to see if this solves the problem.

    1. Check if the WIFI is working. If you are downloading over cellular data, make sure the "Download only over WIFI" is not checked in the settings of Play store.
    2. Go to settings on the Redmi Y2 and clear app data/cache of the app Play Store.
    3. Remove your Google account by choosing Settings > Other Accounts > Google and in the bottom click on the 3 dots and select Remove account . Restart and open Play Store and login again into your Google Account. Then try downloading the app.
    4. Clear the local search history and cache from the Play store app in your Redmi Y2. Check if the Play store app is updated and try again to download the app.

  6. Redmi Y2 Screen Stuck or Frozen and nothing happens when you Touch Screen
    1. Close the unnecessary apps running in background.
    2. Using your Redmi Y2 phone for long time while charging may lead to the heating issue.
    3. Avoid playing heavy games on Redmi Y2 as the RAM might be insufficient for a smooth gaming experience.
    4. Turn off Mobile data, GPS, Bluetooth while in call as this might heat up the phone.

  7. Redmi Y2 Mobile Network not working properly or working slowly
    1. Remove and re-insert your SIM card to solve the SIM undetected issue.
    2. You can perform a basic rebooting if that fixes the issue.
    3. If there is any hardware issue like damage of sim tray, contact the service centre.
    4. Confirm that the SIM frequency is same as the device frequency.
    5. Do a manual search for the network by unchecking "Automatically detect network".
    6. Check with any other sim whether you are facing the same issue.

  9. Factory reset your phone via recovery and restore the system software on the phone. Make sure you have charged the phone prior to this. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Hold on the power button to switch off Redmi Y2.
    2. When the handset is switched off, press and hold together: Volume Up + Home + Power key for a while.
    3. Release the keys when the MI logo appears on the screen and the phone will start in the recovery mode.
    4. Select from the Recovery Mode menu option "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate up and down and Power button to confirm.
    5. Choose option "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm the reset.
    6. Finally, select the option "reboot system now" to restart your Redmi Y2.
